My Philosophy

My Philosophy

My role as a coach or a facilitator is not to teach you the right way to live your life. If someone tells you that they know the right way for you, my suggestion is for you to turn around and run as fast as you can.

You’re not broken so my job is not to fix you. I’m here to help you master yourself by helping you align your thoughts, feelings and actions. As Mohandas Gandhi once wrote, “Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are in harmony.”

Self-mastery is a process, not a one-fix-it answer. Like building anything of value that you want to last and evolve, you must start by building a strong foundation.

I am gifted at helping people dig, expand and solidify that foundation. I will help provide the necessary steps, tools and insights to start you on a path that you will continue from now until whenever.

It must first begin with your choice for it. You must decide to change.

My role is to help you examine the results you currently have in your life, assist you to go inside and illuminate the old patterns and beliefs that are creating those results, discover who you really are and what you truly believe, and then support you to create new patterns that support your new vision.

In short, I will assist you to heal your past, feel your future and live it now.

Heal your past

Simply put, we all have baggage and some of that is what is keeping us from living our lives to the fullest. Some examples might include: past hurts or disappointments, family issues, childhood labels,
physical or emotional abuse,
failed relationships,
unresolved guilt and regret, role models or authorities (parents, teachers, cultural or religious philosophies).

Our past is catalogued deep inside our subconscious mind and plays a much larger role in our daily decisions than we might think. Over time, these experiences can make an imprint on us and harden our perspective, our view of the world and what we can expect from it.

Old beliefs will continue to provide old results. Uncovering the source of these unconscious beliefs is the first step to effectively changing them and creating new truths and a view of life that will support us on the road to change.

In order to create a new beginning in our lives, forgiving and releasing our past is essential. It’s difficult to move forward if we are always, albeit unconsciously, looking back with guilt, regret, resentment or sorrow.

Imagine what your life would be like if you didn’t carry the crippling weight of regret?

Feel your Future

Are you struggling to figure out what you want to do with your life? Maybe you know what you want but don’t know how to do it? Maybe you have the answer to both of these questions but still aren’t choosing it?

I carry a belief that deep down, we all know who we want to be and what we want to do with our lives. Our stopping point is usually fear. Fear creates the negative thoughts and feelings that leave us feeling trapped with little hope of changing.

So what are these fears and how can we overcome them? By asking new questions.

Instead of only looking at what we want or how we get it, an important question to ask ourselves is why?

Why do we want what we say we want? Why don’t we already have it?

The answers to these questions and others like it are preventing us from living the life we want. They are our fears, cleverly disguised as reasons, excuses and justifications. Uncovering and examining these fears, their validity and the power they hold on us is another necessary step to moving forward, not by avoiding or side-stepping them but by facing and going through them.

As we face our fears, they dissipate, and our future becomes clearer as a result. Who we are begins to become equally as important as what we do.

What we do in our future and how we do it become a natural reflection or by-product of who we are. Even though we may not yet be clear on how we will accomplish our goals, we are clear on how that end result will feel.

How we choose to create something new will now be motivated and supported by a clearer understanding of why it is important to us.

Live it now

Free from the past and clear on what we want and why it is important to us, it is then time to discover the moment of now. Awareness is now our most valuable asset moving forward.

What we are feeling will become paramount as we move toward that new way of being. We begin to trust ourselves simply because we know ourselves.

From that trust will arise what we are all searching for – peace.

When we are no longer running from our past or fearing for our future, we will see that everyone and everything we require to live the life we truly want is sitting right in front of us, right here, right now.

Where once there was a world that presented few options if any, now, not only will we see solutions to our problems, it will seem as if they are magically presented to us.

Life becomes fun again and will, at times, seem almost effortless. It’s not that our problems will have gone away, it’s simply that they are no longer viewed as something negative to fight or resist against.

They are now viewed as opportunities to discover, to learn and to grow.
